We are a member of De Historiske which aim to take care of Norway's unique natural and cultural values. De Historiske are certified through Eco-lighthouse and have contributed to and signed ‘The Norwegian Tourism Roadmap ‘ with sustainability at its core.

We are proud to be labeled as a Sustainable Travel Destination. A quality mark for destinations that work systematically over time to reduce tourism's impact on the environment, nature and local communities.

Eco-lighthouse

We have been certified through Eco-lighthouse since 2012. The aim of the scheme is to make the green transition concrete and effective. Out environmental report shows that our CO2 emissions are reduced year by year.

Local Ingredients in Our Kitchen

We work to make environmentally conscious choices in our kitchen. We get vegetables from local farms in the summer and work to make our guests aware by encouraging them to reduce food waste.

Quality Furniture That Lasts

The hotel is decorated with quality furniture that will last for many years. When the furniture starts to get worn, we refurbish it rather than buying new. We also re-drape the fabric on chairs and sofas. Recycling and reuse important to us! The picture shows the ‘Y chairs’ by Hans Wegner in our dining room, which have been with us since 1968.

Charge Your EV While Staying With Us

There is an electric car charger in the hotel’s back yard, which is exclusive to hotel guests. In addition, there are public chargers from SFE about 100 meters from the hotel.

Energy Efficiency Measures

In the spring of 2024, the facade was modernized with new windows. This has been one of two priority measures to improve energy use at the hotel.

Public transport

There are good options for traveling to us by public transport. Among other things, there are buses from both Bergen and Oslo that stop at Lærdalsøyri.
